Been with Pam 4 years, ran a team my half 18.5 cpm, not a lot, but when home every weekend I could live with a gross of over $1000/wk. First they cut me to 17 cpm without notice. Two weeks later took my dedicated run and gave it to owner/operators. Now I run a quick shuttle from Dallas to Prescott,Ar. at 35 cpm. Last week they cut it to a flat rate of $60 one way (thats less then 4 cpm) no notice.
The companies 800 numbers don't work. I think they are going down. Am going to jump to USA and hope that works out
Don't work for pam

Dallas TX to Prescott, AR is about 256 miles. $60 for that distance comes to between .23 and .24 cpm, not 4 cpm. Think you got your mathematical equation backwards...
Nevertheless...that's a serious drop. I, too, would be concerned. Keep us posted, and good luck. -
With 4 years experience it seems like you could go a lot of other places besides USA Truck. Based on everything I've heard and read that would be like jumping out of the frying pan into the fire. Why not sign on with a company that has a little better track record than either of those two?

The Guy was there for 4 years? Must have been a good reason. Companies don't generally trash an outstanding, loyal, punctual employee.....

Don't fuel up next to PAM either. Last October I had one of their drivers take out my truck and almost killed me in the process at the Pilot in Virginia, xt 213 off I-81. He was in such a big hurry to leave he swung right into my truck as I was getting out. Only thing that stopped him was his trailer tires got caught up with steer. $20,000+ worth of damage.

Ok, in my opinion this is what has happened at PAM..... After Cushman took over, he eventually decided to roll all the companies (Pam, AFS, Decker, Choctaw) into one company. So they shut down dispatch and planning in Willard, Oh, Brees, Il, Okla City, and Jacksonville, Fl..... They rolled all of this into Tontitown, Ar HQ. Problem was, they didn't yet have the manpower to handle the move. They THOUGHT many current employees would transfer to the lovely metropolis of Tontitown. Didn't happen. DM boards went from 40 to 80+ drivers. To increase planners, they promoted DM's. Hired a bunch of rookie DM's many of whom quit because of the workload and it became a revolving door dispatch office. After this consolidation I had 7 dispatchers in 5 weeks and began to plan my exit.
