Doonan has can locks, j hook, 3 position slider for Cali and Canada. Continental tires. Aluminum outside wheels
40500 out the door
fontaine machined rub rail has 2 position slider, can locks, 17 pair chain ties ,steel wheels on double coin tires

I prefer J Hooks over chain pulls. Although I don't have them on this Transcraft. My East had them.
-
I haven't used j hooks. Only chain ties. Why do you prefer them
-
fontaine would be my $ well spent, but steel rub rails make a stronger unit.
-
Can't beat the small town quality of a Doonan. I own one and have been to the factory many times. State of the art for a smaller company.

The doonan has aluminum cross members and side rails and floor
the Fontaine has steel cross members and aluminum floor -
Doonan all the way. I'm pulling a 2013 51' Fontaine right now with 22.5's. No way I'd buy this trailer. The only nice thing about the Fontaine is the rub rail. That's a good price on the Doonan, not so good on the Fontaine. BTW.
The nice thing about Doonan is they will build you anything you want, Fontaine will only do that if you order 50+ trailers.Cluck Cluck Thanks this. -
What do you dislike about the Fontaine ?
-
The Doonan is the better trailer. Small town company. Doonan is by far the higher quality trailer.
-
Plus that Fontaine is about $5k too much for the options you have listed
