It's all about the approach, dime. I tell many drivers of possible safety issues going to down road. But I come off playing stupid, and ask if it is supposed to be that way.

When they try to be smart, I pull my head out my ###, and turn the tables again. Only this time I use my knowledge of what is and what is not correct. I'm rarely wrong, but I don't usually venture into areas I know squat about.

Lol. We even have a trailer with a bend in it. Was hit by a train but is still usable. We only use it in town though. Talk about looking wierd in the mirrors, like you are pulling a horseshoe. Pulls straight behind you though and does not off track. I think I have hooked to it once in 3 years.

Securement regs are uniform. The OSOW regs differ per state. A bad securement job in Pa is a bad securement in MT too. Not the same in the OSOW field. I don't think that theres 1 driver that knows ALL the OSOW regs for all of the north America continent.

I love when people just start talking to you when your trying to load at the port. Some guy with a tandem double drop was telling me all about the big loads and machines he's pulled blah blah blah and then got mad when the port wouldn't load the machine for him.... Super trucker

I"m think that door slammer used to be the cop in nevada living somewhere along the 80. He's telling flatbedders they need to flag their overhang corners in the front.

Seen 2 so far and 1 yesterday putting flags on his front overhang. southbound checkpoint before vegas was actually working yesterday. 3 of us with 60 foot loads going through. Only the one guy had flags in the front. None of us got stopped for a check.

  9. I have to say since I'm pulling "power only" right now.

I pulled into the fuel stop saw a system skateboard with a plastic cornered concrete bridge beam.

Walked up to suggest a fix on a chain issue he had. He gives me the. " no offense door slammer".

I tell him go get the winch bar off my head ache rack and I'll help ya fix this "rookie"

A lot of guys have a hard time differentiating between laws and company policy. Our company policy is to flag the front corners. Our company policy is also to use rear lights any time we use flags even if the load is a hundred miles down the road during daylight hours.

I'm sure plenty of drivers working here will think that those are laws. Plenty of times when some one told me such and such is the law, and I ask for a law reference (I don't know everything, and I'm always happy to learn more) they tell me that safety at their last job told em to do it that way...
