Door swinging sucks

I have been running the same way for thirty years, safely. Now, I have an egg timer on the dash. I drive faster, I drive tired and I drive pissed off. And this was supposed to be about safety? Go suck an egg.

 

Lmao... says the guy who’s obviously never hauled auto parts.

 

Shut down an auto plant or supplier and watch the fur fly... That is the ONE LIST you do not want to be on.

 

You can sleep for 14 hours and be well rested on your elog...

You just, yknow, can't drive past 14 hours but I figured that was kind of a given? Because...you know...never mind.

Idk man. HOS sucks. But spending all this time whining about elogs is pretty counter productive to me. My earlier comment stands, #### it and run her to a truck stop as you had before. Really isn't anything to it.

 

I cannot pull a truck stop out of my ###, I wish I could, but many of the places I go, you are lucky to find lighted parking. And then there is the wildlife. And yes, I do carry.

Yesterday, after I made it through the gorge on 40, it was hammer time. I hit the “no trucks” lane more times than I can count, cussing the morons in the 65 mph trucks hogging the center lane. And after the shipper burned 7 hours of my clock today, it’s going to be more of the same over the weekend.

 

Welcome to my world... And thank GOD I don't have to run 40! I cannot imagine how bad that is today. I don't even want to contemplate the thought. I finished tonight in Saginaw and said screw it, I'm going home.

 

$100,000 a minute at Flint Truck & Bus. They would kick a dead guy off the line and replace him while the line was rolling.

I did an 8 year stint as an assembler at GM. I know how they roll.

 

So... where did you stop when you were on paper?

Feel like I'm in a revolving door.

 

Nothing has changed, and they are in a panic as parts and pieces are not being delivered in a timely fashion. We are still slow, when this economy starts REALLY heating up, Katy bar the door! Good for me, as the rates are up, bad for the guy buying the truck or car, someone has to pay for this.
