I'd say my biggest pet peeve is this: in an area with back to back parking, pull up far enough so that the end of your trailer is on the center line. I see many drivers who put their tires on the line instead, and then the person who backs in behind them is sticking out too far on the other side. Drives me crazy.
There was once I pulled into one of those spots, and I was farther out than any other truck. Some one said to me "hey, Swift, you pulled up too far!" I simply pointed to the back of our trailers. Mine was right on the line, all the others were sticking out over the line. He shut up real quick..lol...
Things I appreciate: park square and neat, drivers with noisy/smelly reefers or APUs who pull in instead of back in, picking up your dog's waste, the driver with 5 transflos and a Comcheck that needs cashing who let's the driver with only a cup of coffee to pay for go ahead in line.
Things I don't appreciate: the dog that barks at everything, blaring radios, drivers yelling into their cell phones while walking across the parking lot, drivers too lazy to park even when parking is available, litterbugs, and the pigs who piss on their tires, even when I (a lady driver, for those who don't already know) am walking right past them.Hitman, 7122894003481, Mommas_money_maker and 6 others Thank this. -
Loud unmuffled Jake brakes... There is absolutely no need to use them in a truck stop.
It just announcing that an idiot has arrived.okiedokie, Longshot34, hotrod1018 and 18 others Thank this. -
Drivers with high-powered radios/linears keying up and jabbering hours on end (to other drivers inside the same truck-stop no less) messing up your TV

Hey Dooberhoopa, Dont worry about those clowns. 99% of the time if you would have been there 15 minutes earlier you would have seen that same driver that is giving you crap about how you back up having trouble themself and blocking the path for 15 minutes. The rest of us dont mind, nobody is perfect. And we all have issues from time to time.
As for what I cant stand from others, is the guy or gal that comes in the truckstop at 75 miles an hour and drives his truck like a stunt man. Those are the ones who sooner or later will hit someone and then haul butt to get away. If they would slow down and take thier time they would get there at the same time and a whole lot safer. -
Or the ones that back into a spot and go to bed with the headlights or "fog" lights burning....Idiots!
Or the ones with an older APU that is louder than a riding lawn mower.
The idiots that park in front of the fuel island to go in and eat, shower or whatever really ticks me off too.
#### lazy and can't back into a parking space or to lazy to walk their fat arse to the building....Lonesome, KingOfHibernia, Mommas_money_maker and 6 others Thank this. -
DO's - How about plain old common courtesy. Not all TS's have a wide driveway. If you're approaching the exit & there's a driver coming in, stop a trailer's length back. Give them enough room to swing in without worring about hitting you. Ever have to sqeeze by a driver who puts his steer tires way out past the pedestrian walkway?
OEF08, GSWx, Longshot34 and 1 other person Thank this.
