Well, no, he didn't "have to find something wrong" ... it's that kind of crap that's really annoying.

Both my triangles and extinguisher are under my bunk. The ext. is accessible through the left-side jockey-box door ... after you move the tool boxes, but it is mounted to the wall, not just rolling around. I had one trooper ask, "Isn't that a little hard to get at?" I said,"If this truck catches fire, the only thing one of those little ext. is good for is to club the person that tries to put out the fire."

Couple of weeks back, I got stopped on I-10 near Crestview, Florida. Just started a new thread in the Regs. forum about it, but I see I should have placed it here. The stop actually turned into a pleasant visit with a couple of Florida's finest, even though I was in violation (about 6 hrs. behind on my logging). Wish all stops would be as nice.

So is that only with a RV you need a permit? Your allowed 108" on a flatbed trailer, but only if its for tarping purposes

Castaic scales I-5 north leaving Los Angeles, hundreds of trucks driven by our beloved latino population pass through here every hour, bald tires bad brakes, missing lights, leaking oil,the list goes on. Asked the inspector why he's not putting them OOS,he replies, "don't have room for all of them and were told not to put them OOS unless absolutely necessary" Fear of offending the mexicans has made it all the way to the offices of the CHP! these are the same guys hauling all the cheap freight that the brokers use to base their rates! And i'm not talking cross border trucks here,,,these are those famous SoCal better workers, better drivers(so they claim in their native tongue) that i want to see OFF the roads!!!!

Well in my State we don't have that B.S. Your butt doesn't speak English? Go park until you can converse and understand the English language and sign here XXXXXXX. A nice fine for it as well. I never knew how fast someone could learn a language until you put it like that to them. It's not just Hispanics, we gets Asians and Eastern Europeon as well. The Canadiens that speak french made it difficult too. I'm not offending anyone, I am enforcing the law to the letter of it. We have had some Hispanic groups complain that we were picking on them. Well your not the only other language here jack, or should I say Juan. You are right, these immigrants, whether here legally or not they are hauling cheap freight under cutting everyone. They are the ones killing the rates.

You know, after being in this industry and seeing how things really are out here,,,I really regret the stupidity of my past, that would basically prevent me from getting on the team. with my mechanical background and knowledge of this industry, i think i could do a good service to this industry driving one of those lighted vehicles. Trust me, a POS truck would not get past me, and the unqualified driver would be parked. You guys hire those who made errors in their pasts?? I'd also like to put a CHP in the truck with me for a day to see how dangerous the average motorist gets around trucks if no bears are watching! of course i'd have to fill out my log book!!!!!!
