Yea, last summer I "HEARD" it was going as high as 8 dollars a foot, but the highest I seen it was 5.50ft. All the mills around here are filled to the hilt. So, when I do go out, I try my best to hide from the DOT, "stick to the woods", but they have been lookin hard for us, leavin their normal us highway routes. There just isnt very many left on the roads. All goin under, or just selling off what they can get rid of and getting out of the buisness. This morning we had a mechanic come to the log job to fix a drive-coupler on the dozer and he works for the John Deere dealer up here, and he was telling us that if it wasnt for the gas co's. they wouldnt be doing anything, he told us it was unbelievable how much logging equipment was being repoed. And the way the DOT has been cracking down on weight there really isnt much use, but I'll keep the coals crankin long as I can, maybe we'll break through the other side, don't know. down to about 3500 dollars to my name and havent hit a lick all week this week:biggrin_2553:. There's another old sayin "A loggers luck, Tiered ###, n a hungry gut".

I have always treated all Dot officers the same way I would want to be treated and I have never had a problem they are just doing their job as I am just doing mine. I have never had a bad experience if something needs attention take care of it and part friendly it does no good to get mad at an officer he could and probably will throw the book at you if you are disrespectful towards him or her. The best inspections are when a senior officer has a trainee or rookie with them it is funny then how much more thorough they are but I guess they are trying to teach them right.

This is so ridiculous dot boys at least 8 cars hanging out less than a mile from the wood yard I say this is ridiculous because there's a dot office inside of the wood yard.......this is more like harassment!!!!!!!!!
