I guess the $64 question is what really constitutes an unsecured load? Using 1 strap per 10 foot of cargo or the 2 straps the inspector thinks you should have? Securement, at times, can be subjective. I know, I know it is listed in the manuals but so is getting a ticket for doing the speed limit because someone thought the conditions warranted otherwise.

The DOT~ Never will you find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.
Mommas_money_maker, ridgerunner77, cetanediesel and 1 other person Thank this. -
You can bet they will be closely examining the condition of all straps and chains but I doubt they will be paying any less attention to brakes , tires , etc.
-
you mean they haven't been looking at securement before?
Clasix1055, cetanediesel and Flightline Thank this. -

I find it odd, that they take a few days every year to do this CVSA blitz and if we drive across the the country, there is a good chance we will get inspected. But the other 51 weeks of the year, if we drive across the country, there is a very slim chance of the inspection. I do not like getting called around back any better than anyone else, but it seems they would put more effort into their jobs the other 51 weeks.
