I have a 10" chopped 63" pete high top that I intend to put on the crew cab. The extra wheelbase doesn't bother me. Wanted to test the waters before making any major modifications to the cab of the truck. That was the purpose of this thread.

I agree and have thought about a single axle true tractor. I already own this particular truck. So that's what I'm using for now.

Yeah, I guess if you already own it then go for it but I 100% think you need a sleeper not trying to make the crew cab into a sleeper. No way would you get any rest trying to sleep in the tiny rear section of a crewcab, especially for the guy who has to sleep in the daytime.

I know for myself being 5'10" I have to have my bed high enough in the rear of my F550 tso I fit in the area of the windows to get the extra width but I can still touch the glass. Just imagine the driver making turns around corners while you are trying to sleep in that back area. Your head will be hitting the door.

Also, you need some sort of safety securement system when teaming for the person sleeping.

    MblockerS Thanks this.
