Hello to all. I am going to DOT FOODS in Liverpool NY for a Pre-Employment Road Test this week. Anyone on here work for them or use to work for them? Any advise on how the road test is and what is the next step after the road test? Also what is their agility test like?

they have primarily all automatic transmissions in the city that is great. their trucks are #### for pulling power. you better get an accordion file folder for all of the paper work that you will have to fill out for everything if it isnt on paper you will not get paid for it. everything must be documented. get ready to do extra favors for them they will be up your ### asking if you can save another driver that just got hurt or doesnt want to unload in your area so they do not have to pay an lumper to do it because if you do it it will save the company from what it would cost an lumper to do it at.

The road test is no big deal, I've yet to have one anywhere that was. My road test consisted of about 20 miles and backing into 3 different docks at the local industrial park. Each DC will be a little different because each one is done by the terminal Transportation Manager. The agility test is about an hour or so of bending exercises with different weights and checks to see your physical abilities after extended time of simulated working conditions. Afterwards they check to see that your blood pressure doesn't get to high etc..... After the road test and agility test they will contact you to either off you emplyment or tell you they decided not to offer you employment. Good luck. I have been here for almost 2 years and really like it. That being said it's not for everyone as I'm sure you can understand after your interviews. Anymore questions just ask.

Thanks for the quick reply. I will be a Delivery Specialist so yes I will be unloading. Can you tell me more about the agility test? That is the part I am worried about. I am 5'10 275lbs. For being a bit over weight I can move like I did when I was 200lbs. My weight hasn't slowed me down at all.

Also thanks for quick reply. I just graduated from my CDL Class in Rochester. I think I can drive pretty well for being a new guy. I can streight line and paraelle park just fine. I have never backed into a dock before so that will be a new one. I hope I do well. Thanks for all the advise. Do the trucks have inverters and APU's at all?

yeah they just kept hounding me to do this and help other drivers do that and i got fed up with it . i wanted to drive my truck unload my freight and go pick up some more to do it all over again but when you deadhead to another place to help another driver it cuts into your schedual.... i did like the driving to unloading ratio that they offered out of orientation ... but for the hand that posted this feed about dot foods they will check your stamina and assess your breathing and heart rate b 4 excersize and after.

i do not know now if it is any diffrent but in training i did do everything .... i drove every single mile.... i did all the unloading.... i made all the calls... just like you were on your own ... it was ok but then you got your trainer sitting there watching ...picking his nose... looking over your shoulder.... i thought what a waste of flesh, #### dude do something.... but he was content watching me sweat and the taste of them boogers must of been good.....

Your welcome. No APU's or inverters. You are allowed to have inverters they just require that you have the shop install them for you.
