I am wondering to be leAsed on to I know you will run under their DOT numbers but do you still need to file for dot numbers.. I know ifta ask for a dot number when filing for account is that all in the company that you are leasing on to or you need to have your own IFTA and Dot for your company?

You don't need anything but a paid 2290 HVUT for most leases if you're running under their authority. Oh, and physical damage/bobtail insurance.

No problem. They make it really easy for most leases from what I gather, I've only done one myself. I have my own authority now. If you are successful as a lease-operator, you might want to consider that down the road.

you can have your own ifta even if are leased to somebody,if you do you'll your own usdot number that you can get online

If you googled where do I get a USDOT number and looked at the first federal govt site that comes up....you'd have it already.
