I hear about things like this a couple times a year. Usually the driver parks at a Walmart, gets booted and towed.

I hear lots of things… Have you seen it first hand?

Doesn’t matter though. My point has been made. One guys said he’s seen it several times. Acted like it was a common occurrence, but turns out he saw it once 30 years ago and come to find out the guy didn’t get towed at all.

When I hear about it, it's coming from the Ops or Safety Critter that dealt with the aftermath.

So you haven’t seen it first hand either?

I don't make a habit of hanging out being a looky-loo in places trucks aren't supposed to be, but if you don't want to take post incident reports at face value, then so be it.

So that’s a no? You haven’t seen it, much less multiple times. Got it.

I wasn't physically present for our driver having a panic attack seeing the Leo Fertig bridge and stopping in traffic on I-41, but it happened. I also wasn't present for these:
darn near got a ticket and towed off a approved for truck parking walmart
WARNING! This will probably make you angry. Parking Boot Extortion

    but they still happened.

Drivers at my company have parked illegally and when told to move their vehicle have refused, been arrested/threatened with arrest and had the vehicle towed.

    tscottme and Val_Caldera Thank this.

It’s a simple yes or no. Apparently the answer is no.

I’ve watched Troopers knocking on doors to wake guys up sleeping on ramps & shoulders. A big one used to be the top of NJ-55 where it merges into rt42. A Trooper would be out there every morning greeting every parked truck with a ticket.

I’ve also watched NJSP do the same thing on the ramps into & out of the service areas on the NJTP. They normally write the ticket before they bang on the door. I’ve watched them bang on the sleeper after the driver failed to answer the door

I had a trooper wake me up one day when i parked in the scale house on eastbound i78 in Jersey. He just asked me to move on as they were getting ready to open up.

    tscottme Thanks this.
