DOT Physical and being made to use a certain provider?

I am considering going to school for my class A. With new laws starting Feb 7th I want to get my permit receipt. Med cert. And take knowledge exam prior. I'm being told by the school I have to use concentra if I do the cert prior to starting with them. After hearing so many bad things about them my question is....if I get a med cert through any approved examiner before I go to school shouldn't they except that or am I required to use their examiner? I was also planning on getting my cert anyway to take exams but would a school cert surpass my original one? Thanks in advance!

Maybe this will help. I do not need recruitment. I have a job lined up from a friend to drive dump trucks. This is also being done and paid through the state since I'm on unemployment. I could just go get my B on my own but really want my A so if need be tow equipment with a trailer. Plus the more I learn the better. So any advice if they tell me I have to do another med cert? What if I get a one year on my own (sleep apnea) and yes I have all my info recorded on my machine and I'm good. Then go to concentra after wards and they give me a 3 month card. Just trying to plan here.

I really appreciate the advice. I understand I'm limited to 1 yr and yes I'm meet the acceptable standards. If I was forced to make a decision to take their exam and received a lower certification period does my origin override it. I know your allowed a 2nd opinion and nothing would change as far as answers to questions. But because it is newer than the original could that be put in the system and override my original? Hope I worded that correctly.
