Did the arthritis have anything to do with TMC & Maverick turning you down? They don't run all the way west anyway.
DOT Physical, and osteoarthritis? Will I get approved?

DOT Doctor does not know anything about it as far as I am concerned. Provided I have not been on the narcotics state board list with pain management for it. That's the key.
I don't tell the DOT doctor a #### thing. They have to find it first. It really does not matter anymore. One of the biggest problem joints was replaced via surgery last month and eliminated pretty much the problem. The other joint will eventually break and that too will be replaced with a similar artificial joint when the time comes. Just need a month off under restrictions until the bone starts to latch onto the new part.
I have a whole range of health disabilities and frankly the piss poor quality of DOT medical screening makes it possible for me to simply say no to everything on the form in the waiting room and come out with a two year card. I know it can be done. But I will not do it, it's a form of fraud. I would not last a day on bad roads in a semi.Tombstone69, SteerTire and c.lloyd83 Thank this. -

If you have arthritis and it obviously not going to affect your driving I would not say a #### word.

. It’s a non issue. I have anklosing spondylitis diagnosis and a dr note saying I’m clear to work. Honestly for mobic you probably wouldn’t even have to mention it. It’s not exactly something they’re testing for lol

I usually have two sides to a story, one for telling and the other for the devil's advocate. The intent is to expose the weaknesses in our medical system one for constantly failing to honor the previous DOT 2 year you have in your pocket every time you go to orientation and be stuffed into yet another company exam. Why bother? And the other is to show that as bad as my situation is, the state legislation has succeeded in making wusses of all my doctors just this past year and expressed in weak medicine. My next appt will include a converstation that will go one of two ways arthritis or not.
"This medicine does not work, I require a different medicine or I will not continue any further with management/clinic visits." Meaning that the level of pain becomes a sort of background noise in the body and easily ignored for trucking DOT purposes. If I am going to spend my days hurting I might as well get back on the road. Which is why the DOT medical examination is not going to be able to catch the situation if you do not volunteer information.
Ive said enough. There are two parts to my previous OTR trucking experience and both have to run at the same time influencing my opinions online.
Whatever I write does not get others online into trouble. The Internet is not anonymous. Anyone with the IP source information and part of Law Enforcement can subpoena the information from your ISP and pull everything. If you did not commit any crimes you have no worries at all because none was done here. Just a discussion about how weak current DOT medical exams are.
And at the same time people who volunteer this or that or talk about sleep issues for example find themselves DQ'ed in 15 minutes and sent on their way with sleep lab orders etc. Nothing DOT for trucking. Which is a problem.SteerTire Thanks this. -
Just don’t go flatbed. Do dry van. No touch freight. You’ll be fine

I’m listed as permanently disabled by my personal physician. And he flat refused to release me for work.
Yet here I am.
I’ve never mentioned that, nor have I ever signed a release for my medical records. One mans disability, is another mans motivation.Tombstone69, c.lloyd83 and Chinatown Thank this.
