DOT Physical

By law they aere supposed to . go see your family doctor first , and if you have one get it fixed before it causes you more trouble later on . as you will see alot of bouncing and you will use your stomache muscles .

 

I've had three DOT physicals over the years and they always check for a hernia. They tend to do things so fast to get you out of there that I doubt they'd fail you unless you had serious problems.

My problem with physicals is the "white coat syndrome" I develop when going to them. My BP is usually sky high going in and they have me rest in the room 10-15 minutes before taking it again. It's usually perfect on second try. Other than that for me... DOT physicals are a piece of cake.

Another one of our drivers went for a DOT and didn't pass due to sugar in his urine. Doc gave him a 30 day extension to get the issue resolved. He worried for weeks thinking he had diabetes, but turned out he just had one too many beers the night before

 

How do they check for a hernia ? Had so many dots couldn't tell you if they checked or not.

 

It's where they grab your little soldier, kinda,

and ask you to cough !!!!

 

OK maybe i was thinking a high hernia . I thought that was in your stomach.

 

The guy I go to has never done the hernia check, its a real quick process with him, in and out, I like it. Although this one time I can relate to a post above, the results of the urine test came back and he asked me if I took protein powder for weightlifting, apparently the numbers for my liver function were out of whack and it scared the heck out of me, turns out it was because i had a few the night before not thinking it would throw anything off like that. I ended up with the two year card right away though, so it was fine.

 

How do they check for hernias ? They just grab ur testicles. And make u cough? Details please! Do they examine. Them or its just a quick grab and cough?

 

A Henia check is when they put a finger up behind each nut tell you to turn your head and cough. If you have a hernia the bouncing of a truck will have you crying in an hour. Go to your regular doc and seeif he/she will do the long form first.. Hope this helps!

 

Why do some people make a big deal out of this? So what a female doctor touches my testicle for two seconds, I cough and it is all over what harm is done?
