Ok so I went through 6 months at Allstate Career, Finally got my CDL and its now close to Christmas time so I have to wait 2 weeks before Shaffer will hire me on, Orientation begins for me on January 6, 2013. I am a little stressed about the DOT Physical that they give due to the fact that in the past 2 weeks I have some how gotten fluid behind my eardrum making it incredibly hard for me to hear out of my left ear, I can definitely not hear a whisper from 5 feet away on my left ear, but I can function fine as of right now. I have no insurance so I went to the hospital and they gave me some meds and told me that it could take a couple of weeks to heal. But as of Jan, 5 I will have no job because I was preparing to start on with Shaffer. Is there anything you guys recommend I should take or do to pass the physical? Will the Physician maybe be lenient since it will heal up? I have just been really stressed because I have a wife and 3.5 kids, going without a job is not possible for me to do. Thanks for your help guys! Be safe out there!

I don't know how you can be so sure the OP will not have any problems. Maybe where you went at that particular time the doctor skipped or didn't pay much attention to the hearing test but that doesn't mean it's going to be that way all the time.

To the OP. If you can not wait and must go before your ear heals then tell the doctor what you told us. You could even take the bottle of the prescription with you and show him or her.

Thank you for your advice! I will take my meds and all of the paperwork that I have received from the hospital on my trip there! Hopefully it helps. I have been really stressed out, What is the chances of something happening like this right before it is time for me to go to orientation. I have some terrible luck.

When my boys were young, one of them had this problem constantly, and I used to do exactly that. Also, after the warm water, used a pump, those that you press it then it suck it out the fluid or whatever. Try it, it might work for you.
