Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone could give me some information on the colorblind test that they do for the DOT physical. I'm colorblind and I'm worried that I won't be able to pass the test when I go to school to get a CDL. I have no problems telling the differences between traffic signals and I'm confident that I can pass a field test naming the colors of signals, but I know I can't pass the test with the dots that they give at a doctors office. Should I just give up on getting my CDL now before I even start?

when I went for my dot physical all I had to do was the snellen eye chart and the doctor put his finger in front of my eyes and I had to follow them and tell him when I couldn't see them they didn't ask me anything about colors

Every dot test I take they ask me to name the colors in different orders.

I took my physical 12/13 and I had to do the colorblind test.

I had a physical in december at an urgent care place, and then again with Prime. Prime does a color test thing, I'm pretty sure you just have to be able to tell what's red and green (ie traffic signalds)
