If I get my DOT physical in Pennsylvania but I get my CDL permit in Virginia. Will get any pushback at the DMV. My Drivers Liscence is in VA but I'm in Pennsylvania for a few weeks I was gonna get a DOT physical there.

Physicians or medical practitioners that are qualified to perform DOT physicals are board certified on a national registry & will have their registry number affixed to said physical.

So to answer your question, yes...it's fine.

Yes but when you get a physical on the application it asks for your CDL number and I believe it's also written on the hard card.

    FLYMIKEXL Thanks this.

You have to certify the physical in the state where the CDL is from.. You have to certify to have a CDL

This can't be true. I just graduated from CDL School (in Indiana) and there were Ohio, Kentucky, Alabama, Georgia & New York students that had their physicals done @ the school in Indiana.

I guess you couldn't understand what I said. When you get a DOT physical it asks for your drivers license(CDL) number. Then that number is written on your newly issued physical hard card. If you walk in with a CDL from state A but then transfer your CDL to state B the CDL number on your physical card won't match your new license.

Completely true.. When you get a CDL. you have to certify what type of driving you do and present a medical card to have matched or linked to the CDL. No med card, no CDL.

You are correct, that makes perfect sense.

However, the OP wasn't asking about transfering his CDL (which would through a wrench into things), but simply completing his physical in the state he's currently in & taking it back to his home state (where his current license is presumably issued).
