so which is the PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY talking point? obeying the qualcomm or driving when you are rested and resting when you are sleepy?
seems like both sides want to play the talking points here, this is not about talking points, its about freedom, liberty and we are doing nothing WRONG
we are working to provide for our families and some politicians think they can dictate what constitutes a safe driver and what does not
and a computer telling me i cannot drive another ten miles is not the answer

Heres my suggestion elogs for company drivers no logs for owners now who will make more and who will have better safety numbers
-
the problem is OO's who are obviously a threat to England and Prime and JB and others, so they want elogs MANDATED on all commercial vehicles to "level the playing field" so a newbie from Werner school can get the load there just as fast as anyone elsethat65 and dirthaller Thank this. -

How about the poor sap I ran into on I 80 in Wendover Ut. Sat for 10 hours twittling his thumbs on elog. Storm rolls in @10:01 leaves, spins out on Pequop. If he could have only left 15 min.early, he would have been on flat ground when it dumped 6" of snow in 2 hours. Now he gets to drive 2 hours then another 10 off. Or is he supposed to log line 2 while $600 tow truck yanks him up the hill?

elogging has no negative effects whatsoever
i know of a few cases like that, where guys high-tailed it out because of a snowstorm, and the eloggers had to sit (safely of course) and then leave in the middle of the storm (which was much safer, of course)SheepDog, knightrider77 and Sly Fox Thank this. -
I'm waiting for a mega fleet to "adjust" someone's log, then they get in an accident, an investigator goes through the driver's fuel cards or credit cards and they don't match up with the elog.
The only efficiency is for the mega fleets, they don't have to have a dept. to go through the log books, so they can lay those people off, they also don't have to spend any time training new drivers how to use a log book, just punch the box, drive and eat your food pellets.
And don't even get me started on the mega fleets and their level playing field BS. -
I been driving for 4 years only 22 not bragging. In those 4 years i seen new physical requirements new laws and alot of bs. In 4 years i cant imagine the guys with 20 or 30 years in. All this was because cdl drivers r dangerous n fatigue and causing accidents. I call bs on elogs just more money for goverment and all those people that know what is right. Ya ok. I hate sitting anyone does. I run end dump so i dont sit as much as refers or flats. But im not one of those that sit or sleep long i get 4-6 hours of sleep n can run a good 13 hr day. I try be legal with hos but with all the traffic n bs its kinda impossible. If we do elogs dot will still find bs wrong with the. Or pick our trucks apart. I know when i need to stop to sleep etc i dont need a computer to tell me whats good and nkt good for me. If we r mandated for elogs i will prolly hang up cdl and use my diesel mechanic certification for a new job. Just my 2 cents

Or put the blame for accidents where it belong maybe stricter rules for students and maybe graduated looser rules as your experience increases but huge penalties if you screw up and kill someone.....,i really think the longer i drive the fewer chances i take i look at some of the stupid stuff i did when i started driving i wouldn,t even attempt now no matter what my book says i can do

And you seem to overlook the new reg that FMCSA has in it's hip pocket ready to drop on everyone.... speed limiter mandate. That one is right on the heals of e-logs. And still with that, an experienced driver will still out do a newbie every time.
