I think if we all(including myself) made some of these points to the people that have the say so in this matter instead of this website, maybe we could get something done ..???

the last chance, i think it was the 8hr 30min rule, the ATA and all of its power went to the FMCSA to say how dumb it was to legislate breaks and the FMCSA told the ATA to go scratch
our government listens to corporations, and even itself, but it does not listen to its constituency (unless it is in favor of the government) -
I am all for the EOBR, unfortunately it is way too expensive to purchase and maintain for some (if not most) of the owner operators. I am sure, if the FMCSA, ATA or members of congress had to pay for the service out of their own pocket, their way of thinking would be much different. The cost of the product and service does not trump the cost and simplicity of the paper log. Remember, you cannot assume everyone is a liar and/or unsafe.
Is there not enough expenses put on the shoulders of the trucking companies, due to the fact that members of the general population and government refuse to account for their OWN actions?
For example:
One CMV owner must have a minimum of $750,000 of auto liability insurance, just to be authorized to operate in his/her own state.
That same owner has a boat load of other fees that are required for that same authorization.
UCR, IRP, KYU fees (just to name a few)
It is true, no one ask anyone to do the job of a truck driver. After seeing and hearing how they are treated, would you do that same job?
Truck drivers are the most humble and mild mannered of people in todays world. They get the joy of be called every derogatory word known to man and get treated even worse. It is no wonder why some go off the deep end and run one or two people off the road. Thanks to the heavy burden that is laid upon them. Thank for reading.
Godspeed
PS. God loves us all, even if some go to Hell.SheepDog Thanks this. -
Of course it,s funny that we have yo follow every regulation to a t but govt idiots get to pick and choose like the required cost benefit analysis bun ann hitler ferorro can say she dosent care about efficiancy or viability of the trucking industry just reaching "zero" accidents at any cost

This wannabe EOBR Mandate has nothing to do with accidents. It is time to get a clue. "It is about putting the O/Os out of business and getting more money from the big goons who want nothing more than to put more money into their own pockets."
