Sorry if this has been posted before but can't find anything.

Overall question- Can you do an at home urine glucose test at home? Can't seem to find one. Any info appreciated please, thanks.

Have to renew DOT Physical Card in 2 months. Put on a good amount of weight since my last one. Started eating better and exercising a few weeks ago but still got a ways to go. Wanted to do a at home urine glucose test to see if I would fail so I can see how intense I need to make this weight loss. Neck measurements are ok and not snoring. Pretty sure I've been experiencing symptoms of type 2 but could also be WebMD getting to my head lol. Thanks for taking the time to read all this. Any help appreciated and y'all be safe.

Have your family doctor throw a test for that. A few dollars and done in a short time.

And that's between you and family doc. No one else. And you will have a answer.

It's not just the neck measurement, you have to worry about BMI which triggers sleep apnea sleep studies that might be ordered against you. Among other problems.

Obesity is not where you want to be. Get that weight off any way you can. I am working on a bowling ball myself. I got rid of about 5 of them so far in the last three years.

Go buy or order online a glucose meter with the strips. This way you get an accurate reading. They have really inexpensive ones.

Oh wow I had no idea I could do that with my regular doctor. Thought they would have to disclose that. Thanks!!!
I haven't really gained much weight but am much larger around the waist than last time. So I guess lost a lot of muscle and turned it into fat. Sorry I misspoke mistyped? Lol

Tried googling it and as far as in store availability I only found blood test strips. Guess I'll have to just order one if it's gonna be awhile before I see my doctor. Thanks!!!

That's a good idea. You can then check your sugar as often as you want.
I'm experimenting with chip in my arm that takes a glucose reading every 15 minutes. The diabetes doctor takes a reading every week simply by putting a little hand held thing about the size of a cell phone close to my arm and it give a readout and printout or what's been going on every 15 minutes for the past week.
I have Type 2 but it's under control, so I'm good to go.

Well. We have the VA involved (Mental health for one...) and work around THEM with our private doctor who wont tell anyone *(&^ you follow me?

We have been with this doc 20 years now, and we can talk about absolutely anything in that little room and that's exactly where it will stay. (And has...)

Here's a cheap one at Walmart; on sale for $9.00
Someone at the Walmart pharmacy will show you how to get started and set the meter for the strips you use.

Your private physician can give you a prescription for the monitor & strips & lancets. Your insurance might pay for it.
No ones business about interaction with your private family doctor.

Go to Walmart. Get a diabetes test monitor. They are like $10 or $15. Get some test strips. Test your blood sugar. If it is below 200 you are fine.

This is coming from someone who is a diabetic and gets my medical card every year.
