I like the other one they sell better, costs more per test, but not that much. I'm not, but it runs in the family, so I keep track.

It's often used to monitor but not diagnose, there is a 90 day test that monitors overall control of blood sugar. H1C.

The urine test strips are to check for ketones in the urine, they are color match. That's all they used to have a long time ago.

    ZArmstrong Thanks this.

Been going to the same place for my DOT past 3 years and they only ever do the urine glucose test. So basically trying to make sure I pass that one. Obviously a blood test will tell me whether or not I have it either way. So if I can't find a urine one then I'll have to try a blood test. Thanks for the info everyone

you can go to any pharmacy and buy the test strips. there are test strips with a few pee tabs, some test strios klike the clinic will use have a whole lots of pee tabs.

cut down on much of your carbs, as well as the sugars. snack foods are loaded with sugars. eat wheat bread, not white bread.

cut down on how much you eat each meal as well...eat smaller portions.

good luck, but if you fail the sugar urine test, you may have to see your primary doctor for meds.

and no 2 year DOT card.

i think the first card you get will be a 3 month card....

the o/p is asking for a URINE test strip kit, not a BLOOD test kit.

at the DOT clinic, we pee into a cup, and the nurse sticks a test strip into the cup, and the many test "pads" either change color or don't, indicating sugar is spilling into our urine...IF the DOT clinic wishes to, THEN they can stick us with a needle, draw blood and use a glucose meter.

Hit the keto or low carb diet. Time to start thinking about this taking your lively hood. 2 months can do a lot.

For non diabetics, yes. To pass a pee test for DOT, no.

It's called an A1C test. You can get it at any doctors office or get a referral.
You'll want a glucose meter for daily readings. Yes, the ones with the strips. They're about 25-40 bucks depending on the model. Sometimes you cab get them free. Google free glucose meter.
Be aware, if you get diagnosed pre- diabetic or diabetic... you'll be on yearly or 6 mo dot medical cards, not the 2yr like normal.

    Chinatown Thanks this.

The really coool blood glucose meters are bluetooth or USB with tracking software. Some have a sensor you wear 24/7 and just scan with your smart phone.
