When I was in CDL School I never played with Floating so that I could make sure I had the Double Clutching down for the test, to shift as smoothly as possible.
So how hard is it to get used to floating?

Floating is a breeze as soon as you learn to listen to the engine. You will never DC again.
BROKENSPROKET, bnmbh and Skydivedavec Thank this. -
Cool. When I was in school our instructor pryed about listening to the motor just as much as the Tach for the gears

I learned how to float before I went to school and was forced to double clutch (my state test requires double clutching) I found it easier to float than double clutch. Just listen to that engine

i'm the opposite. though i can float..double clutch is easier for me and do it 99% of the time. but most like to float.

First time i drove with the trainer, i started DC'ing and he about fell out of the seat laughing at me. Took me a couple of weeks to get used to it, but it is sooooo nice now

it is good to learn to do both well. as for my super 10 the eaton websight & video recommends double clutching if needed to to shift faser
