Wishing you good fortune ahead DY. I know a lot of folks can't or won't relocate. Seems as though location is just as critical in trucking as it is in real estate. Living in Florida, I know it makes succeeding in trucking more difficult. Isn't the West almost as bad?

Wow. When one of these guys packs it in, it's truly a wake up call. You couldn't be more meticulous about your business then DY was. Tough to see good guys like this leave the industry. Wish you the best DY. Have learned so much from you and I thank you for that.

I have nothing but respect for dy, sad to see him go. Wish I could convince him to keep the truck, buy a flat, and sign on with a good carrier but I don't think that will happen.

I think a lesson to be learned here is you can't make money long term in this business on long haul load board freight. Especially with a van. Every one and their brother is in that market. You got separate yourself from the pack if you want to make good money.

DY is probably the best mind for Articulating freight markets, power curves ect.... an engineering approach to trucking. Good luck and I hope you end up on the trucking channel. Rather than some of the dolts that are on there.

+1 oil is back up to $50 barrel. Only a matter of time till drivers run down there again. Plus the BMI is going cull some more.

    Dominick253 Thanks this.

Yep but dy has the same problem I do. We know what we should do to make the most money. Making ourselves do it tho...thats an entirely different story.

My biggest problem is I get content. I've spent 1 night in the truck since may 1st. Done nothing but run a few short loads here and there. The bills are getting paid and I'm enjoying being home, but I've also made about 5k less than if I would have made myself work. Oh well. Maybe next week I'll run out of excuses to stay home.

I'm finding if I stay out too long I become very unfocused. I'm good for about three weeks.

I rarely do more than 2 weeks, unless rates are stupid good. And even then I fly home for a couple days.

Dominick253, RERM and 77fib77 Thank this.

DY, why now, its just getting busier. I know you like long hauls and they are cheap, but you still can gross 4500 running Midwest to South, averaging 1.6-1.8

    Dominick253 and RERM Thank this.
