Got a call from cummins today they tried to clean the Dpf filter. This is the second time cleaned and baked.! in only 350,000 miles. Well now I need a new one and they are expensive. This whole EGR equipment they put on these new trucks are going to put some of us small guys out of business they seem to be in the shop with issues than on the road well that is my experience lately! I am fighting with cummins to cover it under warranty due to the excess blow by. It is not a warranty item they said it is a maintenance item. I told them I understand that but due to your motor needing an overhaul at 350,000 miles i think you should be responsible. It has been a tough week for me truck been in the shop for 9 days getting an overhaul. Now this DPF filter unbelievable. I think cummins should recall all the motors they built in 07-09 and give new ones out with all the problems with this engine and egr issues. Any way just ranting Sorry
Dpf filter did not pass flow test need new one!!!

you need to preform a dpf filter delete
cetanediesel Thanks this. -
Cut your losses and get rid of it. Or take your chances with some kind of dpf delete. This is only the beginning of your nightmares.

It sounds like you guys have some experience with this motor!!

Maybe after the overhaul and new dpf system i should be able to get a 200,000 miles out of it then trade it in. To get back some of this lost revenue. It is a 2010 Peterbilt 387 with 350,000 miles it has to be worth a little more now after all the work that has been done.

The ISX is a fine engine if you get rid of all the crap that gets in the way.
You need to read more threads on TTR. All the info you need is here.bubbanbrenda Thanks this. -
Cummins has 5 year warranty on the emissions system, sounds like you should be covered being a 2010

Try this. Might be a better way to go versus the OEM refurbished units they use.
