Truck mostly runs locally in slow traffic. No DPF lamp or any other notifications that DPF regeneration is required. It starts automatically in stop/go traffic.
You only know that regeneration has begun because of increased idling RPM and HEST light ON sometimes. Regeneration is constantly interrupted when stopped.
Can I ignore this and keep driving stop/go? Will this cause any damage? Or should I stop regeneration and wait for highway or when able do Parked? For how long I can keep switch in Stop position?
Thank you.
DPF regeneration during stop/go
