You might get a better response in the Canadian drivers forum. There's a bunch of western Canadian drivers that hang there........

Alberta doesn't give a #### . i have heard rumors that they are trying to make it mandatory that during safety inspection the dpf must be operational but as of now that isn't the case. if there were a place to do it Alberta would be it. with the most laidback laws for truckers in north America. i work in the oilfield around elk point and alot of guys have yanked that garbage off and gotten good horsepower gains, no issues from anyone about doing it either.

I don't think any Govt would care either, I do know for a fact, first hand knowledge, that Peterbilt in Lloyd/Stoon/Regina/Estevan won't take a truck that has a delete kit done, buddy I work with daily took his 09 Pete to trade in at Peterbilt in Lloyd, they popped the hood, seen he had the delete kit, said when you put the truck back to the factory emissions, they will gladly accept it on trade, and that was that, he ended up trading down the street at Redhead for a Mack, they didn't care, and gave him a good trade in value.
I know Custom Truck in Stoon/Regina also asked point blank, and did an ECM scan when I traded in Sept. I was told its their 'grey' area at the moment...I didn't havea delete, but I have heard the same thing, good mileage etc.. if I was going to keep that unit, I was going to have it done.
If you plan on trading in a year or so, I would definately look into it, hate to spend 10-12grand, and get told to put it to stock a year later
