Dr won't clear me for a dot physical ,what can I do ?

    Frankly, if you 'get drunk a lot', you're probably not a good candidate for this work in the first place. And it's not funny. Think about that for one. The suggestion to get a courier job is a good one. Or cab driver, for example. Apparently you've gone to the trouble to get your CDL and cab driver/courier work would show a history as a professional driver. City bus/school bus would also put you closer. Or yard hostler.

    If you're still collecting disability, a full-time job might jeopardize that. Not a good idea unless you know it's going to work out long term. Otherwise, could be trouble getting back on disability once you move off of it. Not trivial to lose your disability.

    You probably want to change your references or have an atty write a letter, if it's a former employer, and warn them off from exposing your prior medical issues. Find out what's going on your DAC. That could be important in the future.

    If you've had no problems in 5 years is a big plus and a lot depends on what formal charges were brought against you at the time that you may have to disclose. Consider changing therapists. A therapist can say, for example, 'has had no problems for 5 years...'

    Between the forum handle and "I get drunk a lot", I'm trying to determine if the post is posted in a serious manner, and if so, the no medical clearance makes a lot of sense, and it's good to see the system working ... but I have a sick feeling they will eventually get clearance from somebody.

    Been drinking a lot recently since my brothers home for the holidays and he's a big partyier ,normally I only drink once a month if that

    The topic is serious ,getting rid if this aspergers diagnosis well only being able to afford free(read bad) therapists is hard.

    Hell my therapist has said countless times to just stop coming since I don't need it but since I let them log a hour for 15 min sessions they don't care.

    But the Dr at their office is a huge ##### ,guess she had a stroke and lost most of her motor functions and now hates the world.Guy before her would have wrote a note butvsadly he retired and I didn't think of getting it .

    Was hoping there was some DOT court or something I could go through ,guess not .Gonna see if I can get a loan to go through some other therapists office

    To drive a bus or cab with passengers you still need to get a CDL with P endorsement IIRC and to get that a medal card.
