IF you do a proper pre-trip air brake test every day, you do it automatically every morning/night...................

I drain my tanks every chance I get. But people end up asking me what the hell I've been eating when I do that.

    Pmracing Thanks this.

I hit mine every time I get fuel, which is about twice a week. I crack the valves open until no moisture comes out while the passenger side fuel tank is filling up. Works well for me, and is more than any of my co-workers do.

your air compressor send hot air into the system, water will form in the air tanks if the temperature outside is a lot lower, so I agree once a week. in winter I will maybe do it twice a week. change your air dryer cartridge filter with every service.

If you have a DEF system the air tanks need to be drained daily.

If you are going to drain your air tanks, I suggest that you use rubber or vinyl gloves. If you have not drained them regularly, there will be moisture blowing out that can look like skim milk and get your cloth or leather gloves wet.
    .
.If you do a full air brake test [and you should] and the parking brake valve does not pop out when you pump down the brakes, try draining the water out of the air tanks.
.Also if your air pressure does not build all the way up in the tanks, I suggest that you drain the air tanks until the air coming out is clear.

How about you just pull the lanyard that's connected to the bleed valve?
