"? Were you pressing on the fuel pedal when you let out on the clutch at stop sign? Or the truck was over loaded at one time or another and started a crack in drive shaft and that stop sign start finished it off?

Holy Crap, driver abuse! Come on, be honest, you're among friends, get a little aggressive adjusting tandems? Hard to say, could have just been a defect. Once, a guy I knew worked at a diesel shop, guy comes in, says he has a bad vibration. When he brought the truck in, the driveshaft had "corkscrewed" and he was still driving it! I did a lot of dump truck, and never saw a driveshaft break like that.

Are u one of the guys i see pressing the fuel pedal to floor after the light turns green, twisting the chassis all up for no reason. The only way that would happen is from abuse

I’m not seeing any rust. So I’m betting on driver abuse, overloading, or it was defective.

The only time ive seen that kimd of damage has been when a driver disnt know how to drive a big truck properly... He had a tendency to give throttle while letting the clutch out... And not just a little. He was also one of those guys that gave so much throttle that the drivers side steer would nearly lift off the ground with every shift through the first 5 or 6 gears.
If that is what caused this... Then feel lucky it wasnt an input shaft. Ive seen them twist off from the same type of abuse. -

Badmon, mtoo, God prefers Diesels and 12 others Thank this.

That looks like a shear, not a twist and that means someone doesn’t know how to drive.

How old is the driveline? Have you had the truck since new? If not, how many miles have you put on it? The driveline has been abused, either by you or the drivers before you.
Cattleman84 Thanks this.
