Nope, it was a Pete. Raining, that nasty old clay ground that turns to snot if you so much as spit on it. The driver never gave us any trouble before or after. Just one of those things.
The only thing he did wrong was try to start out before he got a push from the loader to get him moving.
Drive shaft broken into two pieces while stopped at a stop sign.

Knew you were going to say Peterbilt. Stupid floor mounted clutch pedal.
jamespmack Thanks this. -
That would be about the ONLY thing I can say I like about a Pete. On the W/S after the clutch pedal is worn a bit there's no grip on the pedal surface. Every now and then my foot will slip off the pedal when I'm turning the PTO on and it whacks my shin. -
Update: hi guys got an update from my driveline specialist, he told me that its been fixed before, but was fixed very cheaply and unprofessionally.. which resulted in such bad failure.
Thanks for your input.Socal Xpress, 201, spsauerland and 5 others Thank this. -
Which brings up another question...How many of you guys would "fix" a driveline by spot welding or other means? I could see doing it to get back to the shop but as a permanent repair I'm not sure I'd trust it. -

Far as I know, the only acceptable repair (in my mind anyways) is to cut the yokes off and weld in a complete new tube.
Flint1, spsauerland, BigBob410 and 1 other person Thank this. -

A good drive train service can easily do that for you..
