Thats funny. When I was out there at the CO DC for my company (Greatwide), the FF drivers seemed happier than our drivers. The equipment they had was MUCH better than our equipment. The tires looked almost new to me. None of the drivers said anything negative about their pay, equipment, nor maintanence of it. Also, as far as I know, Kroger has not bought into FF, its more of the other way. Its the same as our company buying into Kroger and bidding in on the DC's. You might want to get your facts straight before you make accusations like that about FF or Kroger. Im just someone on the outside looking in, but it seems I do know more about the Kroger accounts than you do. Oh, one other thing...Kroger IS known as one of the most generous companies in the country if not the MOST. Just a little FYI. You can look it up. Just saying what I know and HAVE seen. Be safe out there drivers.

I left the oilfields to go to work for First Fleet against my wifes wishes and I wished I would have listened to her. I have been driving for 22 years and went to work for these jerks at 34.5 a mile and got screwed out of paychecks week after week. I left them to to go to work for Hoag transporation and I have the miles and better pay. You have to fight for your money and trust me these guys are going to pay. I sicked the DOT Intervention team on them and they are under investigation. Do not work for these guys nor Western Freightways. Your miles will be crap and they will cheat you out of your money and also sign your name to bogus motel reciepts and claim them under taxes and you will get audited. We lost our income tax due to Western. Just do your research for the companies you want to drive for. It is not like the old days

They pay .42 p/m here at Delaware, OH. I see another flyby solo post...

Fountain Colorado and we are waiting for the investigation to get done. They even blocked where I can view my paychecks online. Do not work for them period.
try fighting for your paychecks week after week. We did not get any of the pay you are referring too. They lose the trips I turn in. Dont care what you say about this worthless company. All the drivers in Fountain are losing there butts. Where are the miles and what is home time. I dont get them period.
The trucks are junk in Fountain always breaking down and you have to be a senior driver to get the choice areas for dedicated. I was not making money and I am facing eviction from my home due to that division. I work for Hoag Transport and I have better miles and get paid more. I also get advances when I need them and they pay for orientation. FirstFleet does not. We were told we would have 3000 miles and we averaged from 1200-1800. Multiply that by 34.5 and momma gets angry we cannot cover bills. She cannot work due to disability.
Thank You. We had to contact the Labor Board here in Colorado and our agent has a family member that works for DOT Intervention and last Saturday they went in and pulled logs on 20 drivers and found that FirstFleet has cheated them of loads and miles. So they are pulling more. So the investigation is still going on. This is what happens when you screw a driver out of his hard worked for money.
That is where the problems are in Tenn. They are the ones who do the payroll and screw you out of your checks and mileage. Do not work for them there.
Screwed up paychecks and lost trips. Beware. Have to be on top of them week after week with payroll. You will not get the miles they tell you and will get less and home time unless you live next door will not be every night or weekend. Low pay for what you have under your belt especially if you have driven over 1,800,000 miles with no accidents and no tickets. Cant make money that way.Last edited by a moderator: Oct 13, 2012

I'd like to weigh in here about First Fleet. I am a wife of one of their drivers and let me tell you; this company is horrible! You have to practically beg for good loads, sit on hold at dinner time for dispatch, dispatchers are rude, terminal manger is rude, the pay is horrible and instead of raises, they think that a $2 gift is more appropriate for their workers who hit milestones. You are basically on call with this company and if you turn down a load for any reason, you can kiss good loads goodbye for a couple weeks. My husband is a super hard worker but FF consistently dumps on him. Bids will be out in a couple weeks, then things will change....I can not tell you how many times we have heard that!! So tired of this company and their "we care about no one but ourselves" mentality. If you are here looking into this company, please do your family a favor and keep looking. We see my husband one full day a week; for that kind of time out of the house, the pay should be there, but it's not. We struggle to make ends meet with no end in sight. Thanks First Fleet, we sure do love you.
And that $25 Kroger gift card that will be coming as a Christmas gift sure is special seeing as there isn't even a Kroger here....
