The bulk pump can fail and contaminate the new oil it pumps down into the filler hole. I used to watch the pros at speedco stick the nozzle in my filler hole covered in crap from dragging it across the tire or something else dirty before.
Driver files suit against TA for oil change.

It was a 2011 tractor my guess is it was junk and no matter what oil was put in it would still be junk.
Bean Jr. Thanks this. -
Well, I have 2 different questions in my mind.
(1). Was the engine already on its last leg, and decided to give up the ghost after the service work?
(2). Engine was fine with no issues, technician had a brain fart, phone call, forgot and fired the engine up, then realized he forgot to put oil in it when the oil pressure gauge never moved…..?cke, Bean Jr., Sons Hero and 1 other person Thank this. -
It's not a paccar or the air compressor would have to be listed before the fuel pump.
Has to be a glider or a cummins motor.
Assuming it's a cummins, excluding starting up with no oil, the oil type won't cause the damage claimed.
It's pretty easy to determine if it was started with no oil since he has a peterbilt.
The wrong oil just won't cause the damage listed. Everyone is welcomed to look up where the myth started and why. Explaining it to anyone would be useless tho, because like the guy in the lawsuit, you were gullible once and stuck with it for life. -
Another thing is I would like to see the owner here, talking about what was wrong.cke, Bean Jr., OLDSKOOLERnWV and 1 other person Thank this. -

I'm thinking there's a "lube gun" hanging from the ceiling with a dial on it with several choices of oil AND gear oil for the differential. Mechanic needs to turn dial to correct setting, but wait, what if he mistakingly set the dial on gear oil, not engine oil and filled the crankcase ?
cke Thanks this.
