It takes a lot to rattle my nerves when I drive but that was the first time I was ever scared for my life on the road. I swear every one of those ####ers was trying to kill me that afternoon.

I f'n hate that highway. it was scary before they twinned it, people were so impatient and willing to take crazy chances. as they kept doing sections, it never got any better. people would FLY down the new twinned sections and try and keep that speed up as it went back to two lane. now it's all twinned, and there is just as many crashes as there was before, but the head-ons have pretty much dried up. it's insane. I hauled a lot of equipment up and down that highway during the construction. was always happy to get back to Grassland unscathed lol

As a driver the Pilot is certainly one of your main tools, However it's your job to make sure that load is safe and secure, the pedal named the brake, hmmmm, if your not absolutely positive you have clearance, you stop before entering the no return zone and make sure.
So both will probably get hung on this.

Why would the the state pay for something that was destroyed by someone else’s negligence??

So if you had a nice asphalt driveway and I came in and drove my 100,000 pound truck across it in july when its 100 degrees out and did a u-turn on it and tore the crap out of your driveway. You would be ok with paying to repair your driveway even tho I damaged it?? Yea I think not.

In all fairness even if it’s the states fault it’s still yours.

I was wondering if that guys name would trigger a response like that, we just can't think that way today. I'm sure it happened fast, and the guy passing never thought the other guy would hit a main support. I think they all screwed up, where ever they came from, and bridges aren't cheap. Probably break both companies.

I’m curious how the Court is putting any blame on the driver of the passing truck. He contributed to the situation but broke no laws. How is he supposed to know the other truck wouldn’t clear the bridge in the right lane. The oversize driver never claimed to put his turn signal on, was 2” OVER his permitted height, and was 300 feet behind his high pole at highway speeds. 100% the fault of the Mullen driver and his “escort”.
