    Hearts to family and friends.

This guy(the fuel island speeder) is to made an example of, sure I sometimes barrel across parking lots- but I lose focus on my surroundings real easily. A.D.D, can't take the medicine because it says I can't drive while using it. Now, anyone wanna bet the driver drove for an outlaw carrier with no training program? Anyone?

This is something the driver will never forget. It is so easy to not pay attention as a pedestrian and walk out in front of a car. Prayers for both families.

He was stationed out of the Sallisaw FDF yard. He was one of my dads good friends. He just had his first grandchild a week or so ago and had a very sick wife at home. My dad drove with him for years and he was always there for my dad and our family. He was a good man and he will be missed.

That's a shame. He just started a new job and posted pictures Monday on facebook.

A truck parking lot is the last place to let your guard down. That driver was probably thinking about the bathroom or a hamburger or something?

You always see someone walking on angles, the shortest distance. I always made a habit of squaring the parking lot off and make sure you have eye to eye contact with a driver. There are things you can do to make yourself safer.

How about the second stupidest thing done at a fuel island...pulling up then sliding your tandems back ...backing your trailer into the front of the fuel island where drivers are walking...very DUMB !!!

Here a tip no matter if u belive your a super trucker slow down. If you wanna live with a fact you killed someone cuz ur hungry got to take a pee or crap. You should leave the trucking industry. We have to worry about idiots out on the highways shouldn't have to worry in a place called SAFE HEAVEN...

Sad news indeed , my prayers with the family, last winter was driving back from a run , noticed some smoking decided to pull in and have a look , flipped the hood and noticed a pool of oil gathering and decided to call it a day before the turbo blew apart as I started to get out a flatbed trucker came within inches of my truck as I stepped backwards a few more inches and I would have been crushed I had left my truck running , with that and the noise of the highway I couldn't hear him. He did not even realize what he did. I'm not sure exactly what hurry everybody is in , yes we all have times to meet but at what cost? I know one thing for sure , I would not want a persons death sitting on my conscience till I pass on. But even since I was a kid riding along side my father he would complain of the same thing. It's just a vicious cycle of imbeciles whether to show off or show how loud their stacks are or to pop the jakes through the parking lot. Have some consideration for the man or woman that just pulled their shift and is trying to get some rest before their next shift begins. Ok I'm done venting!

When I heard this news yesterday.......it really bothered me. It shouldn't, we hear about mass murder daily. To me this is so much different. A driver killed in what amounts to our "back yard", a truckstop. I don't know the details and I thank everyone for kinda filling in the blanks. Which makes the story much more sad.

I love this truck. Wish I would have started this in my 20's. I love this job. I take so much pride pulling this truck on the highway, pulling the air horn for little kids ;-). What I don't love is how disrespectful a good majority of other drivers are especially how unsafe they operate. Company trucks that can't get out of their own way on the big road, but in town/construction zones/truck stops, man their all about knocking the stack off it. ( I say stack because those fleet trucks only have one :) ). They don't move over for distressed vehicles or emergency vehicles nor do they dispose of ANY of their waste properly. I walk thru the truckstop waving my arms in the air so drivers will see me.....as they chat on the phone, grabbing 7th. And I'm 6'7".......kinda hard to miss as I look over the hood of big trucks.

Im sure this has happened before, sadly it will be forgotten in a little while. For that I'm sorry. I'm sorry for all involved in this incident......which more than likely could have been avoided.

I still love this truck......this will make me better. I won't forget..........

Thanx to all of you for your input......be safe!!!
