This is a grim reminder of how dangerous this job can be. I picked up a load about 4 blocks from where this occured on the next day. I know that sometimes we can all be in a hurry, but you have to be focused on what your doing at all times!

    This is a shame!!

Very sad, prayers to the driver's family.

I've thought that I had forgot to set the brake on mine a couple of times. My trailer has a tag-axle that is lifted when empty. I've parked, got out, and started walking toward the rear of my trailer, when I seen the tag-axle tires rolling. I've ran back toward the cab, when I suddenly realized the truck was not moving. Scary as hell though. I think just because of this, I now am reaching down, grabbing the park-brake a couple of times before I exit the truck.

Always set the brakes and leave the truck in gear!

Don't need no brake, just park it in a pothole. Course you have to swim to shore and back.

    DenaliDad and Pur48Ted Thank this.

I carry 36 wheel chocks with me and chock in front of and behind every single tire. I disconnect the emergency line, leave the truck in gear and set the brakes.
