So many missed safety steps and ways this could have been prevented. Tragic.

 

For ALL THE NEWBIE DRIVERS: Pull the RED KNOB before exiting Truck!!

IF you get run over after that, how did you ever get anywhere??

All the more reason for "chucking' the wheels when at a dock. I cannot tell the times I have a doubt pop in my mind about, "did I set the brakes" and walk back to the truck to make sure.

 

I have nightmares of my truck rolling and me chasing it! Not often but I still get them sometimes.

NOTHING quite like seeing a truck moving that is not suppose to be moving!

 

A wheel chock and/or gladhand lock would’ve went a long way, here.

What baffles me is all the new logistics buildings being built without dock locks. Seems like a huge oversight.

 

Money, no "oversight", Only proves that corporations will always put money ahead of safety. Oh, they might "preach" safety, but we all know that it is only rhetoric.
