So many missed safety steps and ways this could have been prevented. Tragic.

For ALL THE NEWBIE DRIVERS: Pull the RED KNOB before exiting Truck!!
IF you get run over after that, how did you ever get anywhere??

All the more reason for "chucking' the wheels when at a dock. I cannot tell the times I have a doubt pop in my mind about, "did I set the brakes" and walk back to the truck to make sure.
silverspur, mjd4277, ducnut and 1 other person Thank this. -
I have nightmares of my truck rolling and me chasing it! Not often but I still get them sometimes.
NOTHING quite like seeing a truck moving that is not suppose to be moving! -
I'm not making fun of the guy but being serious.....
Its reasonable that loose shoes/flip flops caused a trip & being over weight caused him to loose his balance more than natural & fall.
In reality, he could have just tripped and fallen..... but just curious if there was a factor not mentioned here...??
I realize that most places wont allow you to wear flip flops on the dock etc, but some places.....Mattflat362 and Grouch Thank this. -
A wheel chock and/or gladhand lock would’ve went a long way, here.
What baffles me is all the new logistics buildings being built without dock locks. Seems like a huge oversight.Grumppy Thanks this. -
Val_Caldera, ducnut and Grumppy Thank this.
