Had a Chicago mafia truck come up on my early yesterday morning. He moved over to the hammer lane and darn near pushed a 4 wheeler in the ditch. Never touched his brakes. Was most likely on auto pilot

I know I’m not on the road near as much as you veteran and regular drivers. I see so many pulled off on the shoulder. No flashers on and almost never any safety triangles. If there are triangles they are never set up correct. I’m with @Magoo1968. So many mistakes from all parties that could have prevented this. Be safe and smart out there……

To play devils advocate for the dude on the shoulder. If he was on the left side of his truck its very posible he was getting his triangles out. I know most rigs nowadays come with the triangles in the side box on that side with the extingusier. If so then he cant have been there much longer then was required to figure out he had a problem he could not limp and getting it set up.

Regardless repeat after me DO NOT STOP ON THE SHOULDER. In this day and age unless you have something mechanical explode it is literally better to limp it to a off ramp or wide area even if your going to rip stuff up doing so just due to the HUGE chance your going to get hit by a retard. And even offramps or on ramps arent safe anymore. Just safer

I blew a trailer tire about 20 miles from Rawlins, WY. I figured I was better off rolling spittin rubber than waiting on the side of the road. Further than I wanted to go, but safer.

I left the house tonight. 3 trucks on shoulder in a 1/4 mile. ALL by the off ramps but chose to stop before them.

I’ve thought about this many times. Law and reg be ######. If i break down and cannot move till its fixed on a busy interstate I ain't gonna worry about getting out and setting up triangles. No way. People don’t see them anyways. I will work as fast as I can to fix and get the hell outta there as fast as I can and that will also be minus the time it will take to pick the triangles up that have most likely now been blown over or smashed by some a-hole that will not move over a lane or slow down for their own mother let alone a stranger. I see many vehicles of all kinds buzz by like killer bees trying to sting the poor person on the side changing tire or something.

    Bean Jr. Thanks this.
