I understand that as a trainer, one gets an extra $300/week. Does that apply also to the initial training of a driver before he has a CDL?
Does the trainer also get paid for all the team miles in addition to the $300.?

No $300 for training. Just miles. Company trainers get team rate minus .12 per mile to trainee.
instructors get $300 a week with student -
I have been purposely not posting info about training and instructing and the compensation. I think that many people jump into training WAY WAY too soon just for the money and create more problems than they do good drivers. I do think that some, very few, people can learn what is needed to teach new drivers the basics about getting their own trucks (I get alot of criticism on here because I only have 1 year driving, but they fail to see my 20 years as a mechanic/maintenance manager & 6 years as a professional instructor) but there is a whole lot more to teaching someone how to perform a vocation. There are two levels, PSD Instructor that teaches new people how to get their CDL, and TnT trainers that take CDL holders and teach them the finer points of running the particular frieght they run, be it Reefer or Flatbed. Tanker is a whole bottle of wax I have no clue about and won't address. Compensations are different for each.

How much commercial driving experience did you have when you started training for Prime?

I'm in my sixth year, and only consider that to be barely adequate for the task. Training? No thank-you. Don't have enough hiding spots for the dead bodies!
