But then again, maybe not! From my vantage point on the outside looking in, I see a lot of stuff in the works that could affect driver pay. Is it going to go up, down, stabilize, stay erratic........what's gonna happen, and why?

It's truly SAD, but from all the research I've done, it looks like I was making more 14 years ago than what companies are paying now!! Ya' think we're in a recession?! Welcome to ObamaNation!!

Overall driver pay is and has been going nowhere since 1982 when indexed to inflation.
Even burger flippers get raises via the federal minimum wage.
    Sad...

I think it will continue to be erratic....
For the last year, we can not anticipate much of anything.

Two weeks ago, hubby ran 2700 miles...made 867.00
One week ago, he ran 3900 miles, made 928.00

Less than 65.00 more, for running 1200 miles MORE???
The companies' explanation? "You bought fuel in places that was more expensive, and you bought it more often.."

OKAYYYYY....HOWEVER, the reason for that was that they kept loading us at 78,000 pounds...and one load was 79,869 pounds.
SO, with that heavy of a load, OF COURSE, we couldn't run with very much fuel on board...hence, fueling often, at more expensive places...

So, in a nutshell, erratic pay is what I think...

    Very valid point,......

If your having problems contact the steward,...If that doesn't work call the BA,...And if that doesn't work call the President of the Local,...

These are numbers I have on speed dial,......

lol our stewards are a joke, they side with management so that they can call in sick twice a week or sit in the dock shack for 2 hours on the clock

our business agent isnt much better....we already got 1 steward kicked out, working on the rest...its a joke

you might hear about a revolution at indy terminal soon walleye

I was at .39 load, .38 empty 3 years ago. I talked to a company doing similar work the other day.....they offered .34 loaded/empty. it would HAVE to go up, just to get back where it was 3 years ago!
