I worked for Arrow years ago. They gave me a brand new Cabover Freightliner and I kept it washed and polished and the day I turned it in it looked new. They would pay to ahve it washed and I'd do it at a small wash or Blue Beacon and them take care of the rest whilst loading or waiting instead of playing in a truckstop. I'll bet Arrow would hire me back even now if I showed them a pic of my truck.

All I can say is: 'The way a man treats his truck, is the way he treats him self.'

I've had 2 mechanics tell me that this year is the last for cat engines in trucks. I dont know how true this is but its what I've heard. They say cat just cant keep up with the emissions laws. I tell ya, its gettin stupid out there. Wounder when their gonna figure out by the time they get this 1,000,000,000 rig built to satisfy all these idiot green people that nobody will be able to afford them?:biggrin_2551: But make no mistake they Will fade out older trucks simply by not making parts. We also have a 91 John Deere skidder and was told by the John Deere dealer we needed to upgrade because they wasnt making parts for it anymore, and thats a 91. So when will they go for the trucks????? hmmm.......

A little late on the upset here. The rules for the emissions were made in 2004 and have been increasing each year.

Cat will not make a road diesel engine for 2010.

Ha! I must be pretty well pampered then! People don't believe my 2000 Silverado is a working truck!

That truck looks good, but the one next to it could use some attention.

Well that figures, I really dont keep up with cat and all their hype. Good motors, but just to darn expensive, heck you can rebuild a Mack for less than half what a Cat cost and get just as good as life span.
