The phrase work-life balance doesn't apply in trucking.
Truck drivers are not the same as they were forty years ago because people are not the same as they were forty years ago.

I'll buy the later part of your post most definitely. In NYC, the average 60k yearly goes no where. As for the management, someone inexperienced won't necessarily know how a company manages. I think the lifestyle above all else is the problem. You lack life balance a lot of times. The first Christmas or birthday an inexperienced driver has to miss, more often than not, that is the end of their run in the road.

    ZVar Thanks this.

You missed where I said, "daily." They may do that 3 or 4 times yearly if that, but they aren't driving 500 to 700 miles....."daily." It doesn't compare.

    MIT and ZVar Thank this.

Understood you fully, only gave the examples I could think of. Most 4 wheelers only drive 100 miles or less per day.

20211004_172135.jpg This company must pay 1500 plus per week. The rainbow ends at the pot of gold right?

A lot of the Indeed job ads are posting Ads that state they will pay $65,000 to $100,000 but it all seems to be a scheme where they take the lowest on their pay role to the highest. The Majority are not putting down their average or guarantee pay on a window reference. Some even are using bonus incentives of sign on bonus $2500 plus. What happened to honesty in Trucking? The average truck driver when factoring inflation rates of today should be earning $100k on average for the local city driver and a additional $30k plus $100k (total $130k) Otr. Whiles the O/o's shouldn't be less than $2.80/mile including dry van.

There's probably a truck repair shop behind those trailers.

All I can say is, owner ops are enjoying this “shortage.”
