They just figured out there are too many drivers out there? We've known that for about 2 months at least here on the forum!

Then why are there so many new members talking about starting training soon ? Members tell them people will always need stuff . There will always be jobs in trucking .

There are quite a few members saying that this is not the best time lately. There are also plenty of new members that think it's going to be different for them. Some people just don't read the writing on the wall.

Companies will continue to hire drivers, surplus or not.

The turnover for drivers is still high because, lets face it, most of us are being taken advantage of in one way or another by these companies.

Until there are some fundamental changes in the way trucking works for drivers and thier families there will always be disgruntled drivers switching companies.

This is why I'm currently attending college. I refuse to babysit a companies equipment and receive miles that might not be enough to pay bills.

Just got my CDL A and finished Truck Driving school 12/23/08. Got 2 pre hire offers and now one of them is backing off. I am hoping the other will hang in there. I will find our Monday, wish me luck!

I was going to attend a school that didn't start until 12/29 and lasted until early Feb, I am really glad I desided not to go that way.

Yup,..they will keep hiring drivers.....Only so they can push wages and conditions even further into the ground,....Then by the time we figure it out they will have all the Mexican drivers they need sitting in the seats,..Making even less
