Trump effect. Over reaction to the slightest slight is the example from the top. ;)

That's a picnic compared to the hundred mile stretch between say Lebanon and Sullivan. Hill after hill, curve after curve, and Missouri drivers suck lol

I do believe this started in 1991 with the advent of AOL, where every moron with a computer could get online and wear their heart on their sleeve. Fast forward to today, Facebook and Twitter have only made it worse.

Back in the seventies, you probably didn't know that your neighbor was a commie flag waving leftist. Or maybe the neighbor on the other side of you was a Hitler-loving white supremacist. Now the internet has made it possible for you to hate all your neighbors.

It started way....WAY...before Trump. I've got my own theory as to this decline, but there's laundry to be done...

This is true but you can't sit there and deny that Trump has taken the act (art?) of becoming "defensive/offensive" [at the first sign of criticism] to a whole new level. It's embarrassing to observe sometimes. And this IS NOT a political statement. This is merely an observation of someone at the forefront of global news today.

And to sort of prove my point, notice how his cheer squads, Limbaugh, Wilkow, Breitbart, and Fox News refuse to criticize anything he does or doesn't do. Absolutely ZERO criticism from them. They are scared crapless of Trump and it's both funny and disgusting to watch and listen to.

all new drivers should read this and commit to memory...........I don't care what the other dude did or did not do; you never know what kind of psychopath you're dealing with, so it's best to keep your mouth shut and move on. I learned my lesson the hard way when I got sucker punched by a dude in VA because I politely mentioned at cutting in line was impolite.

This has nothing to do with Trump, and probably nothing to do with Obama, it isn't even political, and it started 50 years ago with the "keeping up with Joneses" mantra.

Most people these days are so stressed over everyday life and having their buttons pushed that I am surprised you don't have more incidents like this happening.

It's an issue of want vs need, and you can see it in all walks of life, not just on the road, everybody has been conditioned to think they need everything they ever wanted, or thought they wanted right now, as long as they can make payments (or even if they can't) they throw basic math skills of what you are actually paying for something out the window.

How many people today have a savings account with any real money in it?, How many on here do you hear about how tough it is because they had a sub-par week? How many on here will wait until they can pay cash for it to buy something?

Everybody thinks they need to be pushed up against a wall, clamped in a vise, running 10/10ths all the time, if you have a 62 mph truck, you should be running 60, so that you have a little bit left when you want/need to get around that guy going half a mile an hour slower than you, same thing in life!

Yes, there are forces at work in Government and society that push you in this rat race direction, but ultimately YOU are the captain of your ship, don't have 5 kids if you can't afford to feed them, don't buy a new car if you have to finance the thing at 15% interest, don't buy a house that has a monthly mortgage that is half of what you make.

So are you part of the problem, or part of the answer? JMHO

Probably nothing to do with Obama, lol.

Great points. I've never understood people that spend half their income for payments on a vehicle they spend 2% of their time using while it depreciates almost as quick as they can pay for it. My only personal debt is a small mortgage. How many have 6 months income saved? I could take a few years off and be OK. Living within your means and planning ahead isn't that hard. People just need to distinguish between wants and needs yet it seems many can't do that.

    They don't really think then.

    Exactly

    Probably both.

As for the Trump comment it was facetious.

We still have absolutely no information about what happened. Interesting how the discussion has turned to what's wrong with society.

Though we're more likely to hear about these things in this information age I don't think society has fallen as far as many believe. We're just more aware of things that grab the headlines.
