I am scheduled to start a school soon. I am signed up as a 14/7 flatbedder. Ok here is the issue. I am 6'2 and 325. Do you think my size would affect me doing flatbed? Should I try and switch over to dry van?
Driver size..

You first need to get cleared for sleep apnea with a sleep study.
Do this BEFORE anything else.
At your size it will be an issue, and you may have to buy a CPAP machine.
Be prepared for it. -
Ok thanks for the advice..Yeah Im guessing I probably will.. What do you think about the flatbed position though?
-
if you can get the job done. that's all that matters.
it's your weight that's gonna stop your career. the govt is getting stricter and stricter.
i'm 2 inches shorter and a few pounds lighter. i'm surprised i haven't been forced into a machine yet.SHC Thanks this. -
So you think there is a chance that they wont hire me?
-
I don't see why not. Flatbed should help you lose some weight.
SHC Thanks this. -
I hope your right Allan..I really want this job..

What's your blood pressure?
It can't be more than 140/90.
Not trying to be a d**k or anything, just want to make sure you don't get down the road too far before running into unforseen issues.
It happens to so many people because the companies are so bad at pre-screening. -
a lot will depend on the co too. some will put you through some physical tests and if your pulse goes up too high its bye bye.
