Reading this, makes it sound like a real good way to get in the industry. Just curious if anyone has feedback, positive or negative about the company and/or program. Im not worried about my first years pay cause I know its not very lucrative in the first year, anywhere, for the most part. I read something that they ask you to do teams, is this true? Im not really interested in doing teams. Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

That article is full of inadequacies. First Drivers Solutions is owned by C1 Truck Driving School (or vice versa). Second, Drivers Solutions doesn't "just" recruit for USA or PAM. They work with a lot of different companies. You are also NOT guaranteed a job with anyone just because you attended this school. I don't know who wrote this, but they certainly didn't do their homework as they claim to have.

I went through Drivers Solutions. For the most part it was just as they said. The bad thing was they tried to hide some things from my company when I was hired.

I'm sorry but you are incorrect. You are definitely guaranteed a job after graduating with the assigned trucking school as long as you... 1. complete the school and obtain your Class A cdl. 2. your employment history is valid and your assigned sponsor/company signs off on it. 3. you keep in touch with your sponsor/trucking company while waiting to be scheduled for orientation following graduation.

No one is guaranteed anything unless they meet the requirements, but that is all fully explained and understood prior to signing up. There is no need to imply that Driver Solutions is claiming to guarantee anything other than what they kindly and clearly state prior to signing up, based on what the company/ sponsor is offering. They recruit you and assign a company to you and that company invests the money for them to do so. That company isn't going to abandon that investment as they are investing in a future employee because they want drivers, and they need drivers. You just have to do what is expected of you. Get your class A cdl.

I'm really not sure why there are so many people on this forum that insist on providing so much disinfo. Driver Solutions will stay in contact with you throughout the whole process. They will call you at the dorm/hotel where ever you are schooling or they will call you at home or contact you via your cellphone if you are a local. They'll ask questions about how you're doing and if you're passing the course etc. They may ask you about previous employment history, and your assigned sponsor/company may also contact you for information.

I recommend Driver Solutions, but unfortunately I do not recommend USA Truck. I strongly recommend that you personally request PAM. The recruiter at Driver Solutions will likely give you the choice to pick between the two, but you may have to request or else they may choose one for you.

Btw Cubsfan97, it is about the easiest and most beneficial way to get into the industry. You won't make top dollar your first year, let alone with PAM or USA Truck, but once you get at least 6 months of exp. preferably a full year, you will be eligible for hire with some top pay companies. Trust me, I know.

Well let's see here. You don't have just the choice of USA or PAM, so there's disinfo right there. AFTER you leave C1 you are taken to A terminal (USA) and given a screening that you have to pass or no job. They clearly tell you right on the spot. Just because you graduated from C1 you are not guaranteed anything.

I talked to the recruiter (Catrina) today. She emailed me material to make sure I wanna be a trucker. Ive had this in my mind since summer, but Ill play along. I talk to her again on Monday at 2. She is submitting my application to USA Truck. I am a little nervous I wont get in cause I had an at fault accident in 2011 and a speeding ticket in 2012 (14 over). If I get accepted I will be going to Fort Wayne, IN for school. I will update Monday after my call. Wish me luck (Even if you dont like the companies, gotta start somewhere, right?!)

You are guaranteed a job if you graduate, obtain class A cdl, and pass orientation. That they do guarantee. Like I said, as long as your employment history and background checks clear, which they normally do prior to starting C-1. Although, I've seen some people go home because they lied about their employment history.

So you can throw the term 'guarantee' around all you want, but facts are facts. Those companies invest in you, so once you obtain that class A cdl, and you pass orientation, they put you in a truck and it's up to you to prove to the trainer you can drive a truck.

It's no mystery whether or not they'll hire you. You're guaranteed a job if you meet the requirements. The only other guarantee is if you don't meet the requirments, then you're guaranteed to go home.

You're right, gotta start somewhere. Those moving violations prolly won't fly with PAM, but since that is only one per year, USA Truck will probably clear you. I'd still request PAM though. I heard some bad things about USA Truck, but you can't really believe all the talk, you know.

This is again not true. USA clearly tells you while in school and at Orientation that just because you go to school you are not guaranteed a job. You really ought to try to mislead these people in believing just because they go to school their automatically granted a job. This is not so. I've seen many people be sent home after they get to Orientation because something popped up somewhere. Whether they flat out lied about it or otherwise.

From what it sounds like as long as into and do a good job and don't lie about anything I should be fine. I have no criminal history, I've only had 2 jobs in my life that are both in good standing. I've already made them aware of my driving record.
