I dont care if brokers track me because I don't like the non stop calls. It works for me. Maybe not for you. When you track a ups package, it's more of a status check....you know en route, being shipped, etc.

Have you not read macropoints terms of service? By using the software yes they can and will track you down to which stall you sit in to take a crap. Yes it's that accurate.

Heck their terms if service specifically states
"(b) you have no expectation of privacy when using the Service"
and here is from their privacy policy
"The Company may use your personal data without your knowledge or consent where the Company is permitted"
    followed by
"Additionally, where the Company is permitted to do so under applicable law, the Company may share your personal data with its subsidiaries, affiliates, employees, contractors, consultants and other parties"

So, do you still trust this company? I know I will never allow their crap on my devices....
I would go as far as a company phone left in the cab, but nothing more.

Everyone has their line. Nothing wrong with that. Don’t want to be tracked? Don’t do business with people that require it.

One of our main food grade shippers requires us to have Carrier Link on our phones. For what the loads pay and the percentage of my revenue they make up its worth it to me to have an app on my tablet.

I haven't ever had brokers call wondering where I'm at. I'm aware UPS tracking is more of a status update that was my point, you're comparing apples and hippos when they want to track your cell phone.

And the thing is they don't need to use macropoint to track your phone. Google maps has location sharing which that is all it does. No need for a privacy invasion from macropoint since you already have google.

I've got macropoint. They only have asked for access to my location. As far as personal data goes, to my knowledge, that's only my phone number. I do believe it mentions that in the privacy policy. They state its purpose in the agreement. They have regs that they have to go by. Besides, as we are talking on our devices, we are being tracked. Any trucker apps or any other apps you have installed, same thing. I am sure they have the same policy.

True but brokerage ain't invading privacy. Just doing business. Tracking freight. That's it. Macropoint has location sharing too. That's all it requests permission for whenever I've used it.
