Really? Uber drivers are taking people across town of course they are going to get more per mile than you going across the freaking country with a load.

I think volume is the deciding factor here. Say as a Uber driver you drive 100 miles in a day at $1.10 you made $110 revenue for the day, but as a bad truck driver you run 400 miles a day at $1/mi you make $400 in revenue. That being said your expenses are much higher on the truck (I am assuming) I don't know what your expenses are on the car for an apples to apples profit comparison.

You comparing a good day as an über driver to a bad day as trucker. Maybe in a big city you could get 100 miles a day steady but the few people I know that do it where I live which is like a mid sized city don't get 100 miles a day but every so often.

Wow that sucks. I thought I was being low. I have friends who drive Taxi in Yakima and say they get about 150-200 miles a day.
Also I was using the 400 miles to try to be closer to a 1 day load so 2hrs load, 8hrs drive, and 2hrs unload. -
I think taxis will probably still be used more than uber seems to be a young person thing for the most part. I'm not saying that's not possible to get 100 miles or more but if you not in like NYC or la it probably won't be something to count on. But then again that's a lot easier of a job.

you realize the young people will still be here once us old people are dead right? maybe the uber thing might stick around. LOL

Hahah yeah I know my point was as of right now it's not as popular as taxis I could be wrong but idk. If I could make te same money doing that **** driving a big ### truck.
