Probably any local company will hire you.
Local dump trucks have no problems finding a job after they've layed their truck over.bentstrider83 Thanks this. -
But do check out the equipment to sure how well it is maintained. Try to talk to some of the 1099 companies drivers. Look at Craigslist. A lot of them advertise there. Good luck on your search. -
One of the things to remember about a 1099 job is that you probably won't have any coverage for Workman's Comp if you get hurt on the job.
Also, those big paychecks look good until you figure you'll have to come up with the taxes on them every year. Don't try to avoid the taxes, it just gets worse if you do.bentstrider83 and snowwy Thank this. -

I'd figure with three years experience prior to the rollover, that might hold some weight with some place like Western Express. Got on with them in Nov 2010 after a rollover in 2007 with Swift(ha ha). Three years in between I worked a 1099 container company in SoCal. Along with my usual security guard job. Had only 13 months with Swift before the rollover, so many companies told me three years had to pass before they'd let me on. Of course the three years passing, plus the six months with the shady container outfit proved their worth.
Stayed with Western Express for like, a year, then jumped on over to milk tankers in 2012 and still doing it.Brettj3876 Thanks this. -
bet you don't swerve next time
