Considering he's been here continuously for 9yrs, only retired recently and just makes a humorous aside. Then someone who's been here 2mos get's haughty that he is posting here, well.........

I can't sigh heavy enough. :dontknow:

Seeing your comment following that one, you need to lighten up a bit or you are never going to have any fun at all.

Let me know when you drive a truck
Again, im not sure what you're thinking. No one said I wanted to use my own ELD with another carrier. Perhaps you don't have as much experience as you think you do. Otherwise, youd understand where I was going with my comment. Instead, you want to play dumb and wish me well. From the sound of things, you're here because you know nothing.

As far as the company in question of thread, I would not believe a single thing on their website or what they say.

They can print & say anything they want, as many many companies do.

The 1099 thing is a red flag, right off. Would never do that, even in the worst case scenario. Way to much risk of financial ruin & reason it is dangled to those with no credit & little/no business experience. It is designed to benifit nobody but the company, relieve it of all the risk/expense/tax burden, make it money & have somone pay for their equipment.

I really can't believe for one minute that they can guarantee $7,000/wk gross every week for dry van in the current market.

It would have to be proven to me with very hard evidence & guaranteed in writing for me to believe it.

I believe no words or promises in this industry. Been around too long to know better.

Lets analyze his comment then. What would you think your 9 yr but buddy meant when he said it's not enough to get him out of retiring? Then, do tell me why we should care.

No, he wished you well because he is tired of you and probably wont comment further.

If you stopped trying to bash everyone you would maybe figure out how much experience is actually ON this board.

Some people there is just no talking to...

To be fair, it IS possible to gross 7k or more in today's market. People are just allowing loads to go under $2/mile by taking them. That's why I told the other guy, it is average pay anywhere. If you average 500 miles per day at $2, you get 7k gross. Short miles up to $4, but again, people keep taking low paying loads and settle for $2. You can't get anything other than a 1099 if you're leasing with a carrier and using their equipment. Since you're doing contract work for them, running their loads.

First, he's not my 9yr buddy. He's been here 9yrs.

Next, this is only my take.... he read yet another thread about 1099 scams that we constantly & continously see, continuously warn about and continuously see the overwhelming vast majority ignore, fail & disappear.

Then, he humorously said, nope I'm staying retired.

Seems like everybody understood that, so I have no idea whom this "we" you speak of are.

Lighten up. You'll enjoy life to a much better degree.
